• Visiting Reasons: He needs 'me' time and it's on the way to his daughter's kindergarten. He went in on impulse one day and kept coming back.


• Personality: Outgoing but not overly social. He talks easily to people but he doesn't give out personal details. He plays it close to the vest because of his personal life. He's a total romantic and has an artistic, sensitive temperament. Kind, thoughtful and caring. As a young single father he has a bit of a broader perspective than most people his age.

Estranged from his family and feels the loss deeply. He would like to mend his relationship but feels they will never accept his sexual orientation or his daughter and both of those are deal breakers. He refuses to bend over backwards for them, despite the carrot of lots and lots of money dangled in front of him if he conforms.

Has yet to bring his daughter to the cafe, he likes keeping it just for himself, and he doesn't want to scare away any potential boyfriends, and he needs the time to try to figure out what to do with his life.
He's pretty low-key for the most part. Not a person to go out or party. Never drinks anymore. Has never done drugs. Fairly straight laced in a lot of ways. What he wants really is a quiet life, a happy family, and to get married (even if he has to do it over seas).

• Background: Crazy ass soap opera!! In high school he got his girlfriend (*coughbeard*) pregnant (the first and last time he ever made it with a girl). His rich family paid her off hoping she'd get an abortion. Instead she and her family moved to Okinawa for a fresh start. Three years later she and her family died in a bus accident and Jiro became sole guardian of his three year old daughter. He had never met his daughter Kimie before the day she stepped off the airplane either, though he did know of her existence and sent the occasional gift. He had to sneak around behind his parents back because they didn't know they had a granddaughter.

Jiro's family disowned him, taking away his trust fund and giving him a small (by their standards) yearly stipend. He had enough money to buy a house and they live comfortably, but he had to drop out of business school (and he was finally dipping into the dating pool again after the trauma that was high school). Jiro became a stay at home dad and his family money meant he didn't need to work. But now that his daughter is five she's starting kindergarten and he finally has some spare time on his hands. He's thinking of going to art school, which was always his first love, and yet again trying to date.

He is cautious about the relationships he begins, both friends and lovers. He knows that whoever he brings into his life he also brings into his daughter's life, and she is his priority. He also realizes it's a little weird to be a 22 year single father and that most men he meets probably won't be interested having a ready-made family.

He didn't come out until late in high school and by then after the scandal with his girlfriend THAT is what overshadowed his last year. He was out in college but not super active. He was never really bullied at school or college. Very private.

Dresses like an old man! Favors sweaters and sweater vests, ties, button down shirts, and newsboy caps. It will be a cold day in hell before he is seen in shorts and a t-shirt. Kind of acts like an old man too. Acts world weary and responsible. Doesn't go out, doesn't party, he's very straight-laced, he takes his parental responsibilities seriously and he put Kimie first. Also, he doesn't really WANT to go out and do that stuff. His idea of a good time is a good book, or working on a drawing, or playing with his daughter. He's kind of boring...
